Our first speaker series event of the year brings Meg McLaughlin all the way from San Diego over Zoom. McLaughlin works as a photojournalist at the San Diego Tribune with a focus on sports. Regardless of whether she’s shooting for a presidential campaign or a county fair, Meg is always guided by her creative passion for storytelling.
Join the Photo Club for our first workshop of the semester featuring Ira Wilder and learn about how to use lights in a studio setting to shoot headshots and portraits! Ira is a freelance photography studying at UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism specializing in “capturing rare candid moments and finding the middle ground between arthouse and journalistic photography.”
The Photography Club welcomes Dan Gaba over Zoom from NYC. Dan is a street photographer and WSJ Photo Editor who previously worked as the WSJ Photo Editor in London and at the NYT. He also started a comedy show and enjoys talking about cameras!
Peyton Williams joins UNC Photo Club to talk about sports photography, portraiture, his gear, and his journey. Based out of the Research Triangle area, Peyton is an esteemed sports photographer following the ACC sports region.
